How does Ashwagandha promote beauty from the inside out?
This superfood cultivates mindfulness, healthy skin, and holistic wellness.
Withania somnifera, the scientific name for ashwagandha, is an Asian and African native. Long used in ancient Indian Ayurvedic medicine as an anti-inflammatory, anti-insomnia, and nutritional supplement, this herb is also known as "Indian ginseng."
Ashwagandha, too, is an adaptogenic herb. In other words, it makes it easier for your body to deal with stress. Ashwagandha's health benefits have been studied mostly on animals, therefore doctors are unable to determine for sure how effective it is. This herbal supplement, on the other hand, may be beneficial for the following conditions.
- Ashwagandha soothes and protects the skin from dry, rough skin by moisturizing it.
- Cleansing agents known as withanolides help remove dirt and other impurities from the skin, reducing the likelihood of acne-causing closed pores.
- When used as a cream, ashwagandha may be used to treat minor wounds like cuts and bruises.
- Anti-aging properties: DHEA, which is a precursor to both testosterone and estrogen, is boosted by Ashwagandha. For proper skin hydration, it stimulates the creation of essential proteins. DHEA and estrogen stimulate collagen production and the production of natural skin oils to keep the skin looking young. Stress does not age the skin when cortisol levels are reduced.
