Pragya-Apradha: Crime Against Our Inner Wisdom

Pragya-Apradha: Crime Against Our Inner Wisdom

PRAGYA-APRADHA: CRIME AGAINST OUR INNER WISDOM

Ever wonder what causes our disease and what Ayurveda got something to say about it?

Let’s dive into the depth of Ayurvedic wisdom and understand our body, nature,, and spiritual state to reconnect.

By saying it is the holistic approach, we know that we break down the diagnosis of what triggers our illness, discomforts, or as simple as one single pimple to its deep roots - finding out the cause.

Thousands of years ago, Ayurveda has already studied and developed its holistic principles addressing our mental and physical issues. However, before Ayurveda talks about our lifestyle, food, and rituals, it talks about this sacred gift we have within ourselves first - the innate connection we have with the higher self within us.

Today, let’s talk about the holistic approach of Ayurveda to wellness, beauty, and skincare.

So how do we actually do that? Well, in Ayurveda, there’s this concept of PRAGYA-APRADHA. Pragya means wisdom, and Apradha means crime. Hence it translates directly as “crime against our inner wisdom.”

One word and it can tell you the cause of your disease! But what does it exactly mean, by the way? To make it plain as it can be, Pragya-Apradha is doing something against our inner wisdom. This is believed to be what leads to all causes of disease and misery on the planet.

Our inner wisdom governs our conscience

It’s what tells us whenever we indulge in an activity that is unpleasant to our holistic wellness, any activity that doesn’t serve us in a good way. It’s precisely what tells us that that bag of chips will cause us diseases because we know how junk food is linked to a higher risk of obesity, depression, digestive issues, heart disease,, and stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and even possible early death. Now, this applies not only to food and the physical body; whether we’re sleeping for those ten minutes extra or we’ve exhausted ourselves, we know it somewhere inside that something just doesn’t feel right - that’s our inner wisdom telling us what we should and never do.

OUR INNER WISDOM AS A GUIDE

A lot of us who understand Ayurveda to a higher level seek to awaken our inner wisdom because it benefits us from keeping us away from harm, and supports us in all aspects.

On the other hand, if our inner wisdom is blocked, we tend to be unconscious of its existence and its guide that we commit crimes against it most often than not. Acting against our inner wisdom entangles us in the cycle of the world that leads to diseases and misery.

It is so important that it affects everything in our life and everyone in the world. In fact, it’s your inner wisdom that tells you something can be detrimental or beneficial to you and the people around you. Although Ayurveda talks a lot about food, herbs, medicine, exercises, and lifestyle, it teaches us that the ultimate goal of our human life is to awaken our inner wisdom. It is such an empowering concept that all Ayurvedic practitioners exert much effort on reconnecting with the Inner Wisdom as Ayurveda educates how everything in life lies in its consciousness and guide.

Pragya or our Inner Wisdom is so powerful that rather than going out there spending on research and all the information we think would serve us best, Ayurveda teaches that if we reach that consciousness level, we need not ask anyone but ourselves alone. Whether it be food, exercise, behavior towards other people, and everything we do, our answer lies deep down in ourselves that tells us what to do.

So let’s work on awakening our Pragya, our inner wisdom, which is so much possible if only we could spend a little more time on our self-development and mindfulness by decluttering ourselves. All our excess noise, narratives, and emotions that we carry, including the vibe around us and the kind of people we welcome into our personal space; these negativities are toxins to our spiritual self that cloud our Pragya.
