HISTORY old
A Kansa wand is a small domed used to massage the face + body, energizing while reducing stress. At KO, we carefully build our wands with kansa, a sacred bronze (tin + copper) recognized in India as a healing metal to promote optimal health and well-being. Read ahead to learn more about the history of KANSA.
In Ayurvedic Medicine, the kansa wand is cherished because it is said to balance the three Doshas, the Vata (Air), Pitta (Fire), and Kapha (Water). Doshas are energies in the body, and their alignment is key in influencing overall health. This holistic practice of harmonizing the mind and body is something that has been tried, proven, and true for thousands of years in Ayurveda to boost energy and healing.
The goal is to increase the Prana (life force), the healing energy of Vata, bring about our Tejas (our inner radiance), the healing energy of Pitta, and restore Ojas, (the ultimate energy reserve of the body), derived from Kapha.
As we use our KO Kansa wand, not only are we paying homage to an ancient ritual, we are also drawing out acidity from the tissues, and improving the body's natural electrical energy system. Find more on our "Benefits" tab.
